Pape Gueye, the defensive midfielder of OM, was officially summoned to the Senegalese selection by Aliou Cissé.
How many players from theIF will play in the next African Cup of Nations, from January 9? After the young striker Bamba Dieng last month is Pope Gueye (22 years old) who will join the Senegalese selection. Aliou Cissé, the coach of the Teranga Lions, has unveiled his group of 25 players for the next two matches of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, against Togo and then Congo. The qualification is already acquired.
The player trained in Le Havre, a native of Montreuil, played in French U18 and U19 in 2017 but was never called up to the Bleuets and thus seized the opportunity to represent the country of his parents. The left-handed defensive midfielder lost his starting place with the Phocéens at the start of the season under the command of Jorge Sampaoli, but is used in almost all matches.
The team led by healthy mane is notably composed of Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Bouna Sarr, Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye, Nampalys Mendy, Ismaïla Sarr, Habib Diallo or Boulaye Dia (as well as Bamba Dieng, recalled).
Coach Cissé has released his list of 25 lions for the double confrontation against Togo and Congo.
As expected, Pape Gueye of OM is well on the list.
What do you think of his selection?
