Atalanta-Manchester United: Mancunian fans attacked in Bergamo

Atalanta-Manchester, match under (high) tension. After the first leg, won by the Red Devils (3-2) at Old Trafford thanks to the inevitable Cristiano Ronaldo, the two teams meet again this Tuesday in Bergamo for the return leg. A meeting already marked by incidents, with the aggression of Mancunian supporters by masked individuals.

About twenty masked individuals

As La Gazzetta dello Sport recounts, several Manchester United supporters who traveled to Italy were attacked last weekend in a restaurant by around twenty masked individuals. The latter targeted them with projectiles and smoke, and our colleagues speak of two injured people …

The attack did not last long, and it could have been much more violent if the managers had not had the reflex to block access to the restaurant. Thanks to them, the situation did not degenerate but a waitress was still hit in the face by a jet of a bottle, while a Mancunian supporter was beaten or projectiles, evidenced by the bruises that appeared the next day.

The police carried out several searches

Unfortunately, the surveillance images or the videos filmed by passers-by will undoubtedly not help to find the culprits, who have therefore taken care to hide their faces. For its part, the police carried out several searches of Dea fans registered for violence in the stadiums, but this did not result in any arrests.
