Mario Balotelli should make a comeback with the Italian selection for the World Cup play-offs.
And if the destiny of the Italian selection was to rely on Mario Balotelli? Less than a year after winning Euro 2020, the Nazionale will play its qualification for the 2022 World Cup during perilous play-offs, with a duel against North Macedonia then a shock against Portugal or Turkey.
While Federico Chiesa has seriously injured his knee, Roberto Mancini is looking for new blood for his attack. And the Italian coach should therefore call on Balotelli, according to Sky.

Balotelli, no longer called since 2018
It’s a sensation, because “Super Mario” has not worn the jersey of his national team since September 2018. He was then playing for Olympique de Marseille and since then his career has been quite chaotic. After a failed stint at Brescia, then another difficult one at Monza last season in Serie B, Balotelli joined Denirspor in Turkey this season. His record in the Super Lig is 7 goals in 18 games.
It’s enough, obviously, for Mancini to have thought of him. Nothing says that Balotelli will be well on the ground for these important games for Italy. But he should at least join the group, and defend his chances in training. Waiting to play the heroes?
