Mbappé, a scheduled operation

A little over a month after the end of the summer transfer window, Kylian Mbappé broke the silence by granting two interviews to RMC and L’Equipe. The PSG striker took care to choose his timing.

The last time he spoke so clearly about his future, or rather his club situation, was last January. At the end of a match against Montpellier, well before the summer, Kylian Mbappé had confirmed that he was in full reflection on his future at Paris Saint Germain. Since then, weeks and months have passed, and Bondy’s prodigy has remained very discreet on the subject, despite the thousands of press articles he starred in France, Spain and everywhere else.

His silence meant only one thing, that Mbappé had made his choice in favor of the Real Madrid, to the detriment of PSG. What he could not assume officially in the middle of the transfer window, because the risk of igniting the powder was great. So Mbappé bided his time to get out of the silence, and put things straight.

Controlled timing

The international break is the best time for this. With two weeks without matches for PSG, Mbappé thus avoids disrupting the preparation of his club for an important event. And in the event that his statements provoke the anger of Parisian supporters, there would be time for the tension to drop before he again treads the lawn of the Parc des Princes.

The September truce coming too soon after the end of the transfer window, Mbappé therefore chose the international window of October to reveal himself. With two interviews granted to two important media, RMC and L’Equipe, Mbappé and his clan have therefore mastered the timing and the means of their communication, in a programmed operation. But it stops there. RMC, via Loïc Tanzi, assures that no question is forbidden for the two interviewers of the radio, Jérôme Rothen and Jean-Louis Tourre.
