Liverpool easily dominated Southampton (4-0) with a double from Diogo Jota. The Reds currently have the top three in the league.
Liverpool doesn’t just have the best striker in the Premier League. The Reds also have the best line right now. Thus, Jurgen Klopp’s team easily won this Saturday against Southampton (4-0) in a meeting where Mohamed Salah, who has been walking on the water since the start of the season (11 goals and 8 assists in 13 days), has for once been clumsy in the face of goal.
But Liverpool have other resources. Sadio Mané, of course, but also Diogo Jota. The Portuguese, excellent since his arrival at Anfield last year, has regained a starting place a few weeks after the injury of Roberto Firmino. He responded against Southampton by signing a brace, with two center-forward goals on crosses from Robertson (1-0, 2nd) and Salah (2-0, 32nd).
As a result, there are currently three Liverpool players in the first three places in the Premier League scorers’ ranking, since Salah (11 goals) is followed by Mané (7 goals) and Jota (7 goals), who are at tied with Jamie Vardy (also 7 goals).

After his nice strike against Porto in the Champions League, Thiago Alcantara again found the net after a roulette wheel followed by a deflected strike (3-0, 37th) and it was Virgil Van Dijk who closed the scoring against his former club (4-0, 42nd). This is the second 4-0 in a week at Anfield after that inflicted on Arsenal, and Liverpool quietly consolidates its place at the top of the table.
