Claudio Ranieri is not lacking in humor, he who made a funny promise to the members of his team.
Claudio Ranieri joked that he would take his Watford side to dinner when they could afford their first clean sheet. But the Italian coach clarified that the dinner would take place … in the club canteen.
The transalpine coach, who was hired earlier this month, is known for taking his Leicester team for pizza when they were keeping a clean sheet.
After arriving at Watford, Ranieri said ahead of his first game against Liverpool that he would offer the team a dinner if they kept the Reds in check.
Not to miss
The Hornets were ultimately unsuccessful, with Liverpool winning 5-0 last Saturday, but Ranieri joked that the offer still stood ahead of the trip to Everton scheduled for the weekend.
“Believe me, I forgot that,” Ranieri said, when reminded that he had said he would treat his players to dinner if they pull off this feat against Liverpool.
Ranieri is most famous for the heroic title won by the Leicester City Foxes in 2016, under his auspices.
