According to information from El Pais, the Barca striker suffered a cardiac arrhythmia during the match against Alavés.
On Saturday evening, Barça received Alavés on the occasion of the 12th day of La Liga. After Ronald Koeman’s dismissal, Sergi Barjuan took over.
And this first was not a clear success: in sporting terms, Barça was held in check (1-1) and thus remains on a series of three consecutive matches without a win in La Liga.
The meeting was also marked by the injury of Gérard Piqué who joined an already full infirmary (Frenkie De Jong, Ansu Fati, Martin Braithwaite, Sergi Roberto, Pedri, Araujo and Ousmane Dembélé).
Not to miss
But it was above all the discomfort of Sergio Agüero that was the result of the match. In the 39th minute of play, after a duel with Laguardia, the Argentine striker collapsed to the ground while holding his chest. He had trouble breathing but he was able to get up before leaving the field and being replaced by Coutinho (41st).
Sergio Agüero was then transported by ambulance to a Barcelona hospital where he underwent a medical examination. And according to information from the Spanish daily The country, Agüero suffers from a cardiac arrhythmia. Arrhythmia is an abnormality that affects the normal heart rate. With arrhythmia, the heart tends to beat too slowly (bradycardia), too fast (tachycardia), or irregularly.
El Pais reveals that Agüero is still in hospital this Sunday where he was placed under observation while awaiting further medical examinations.
