If he has hardly played all season (270 minutes with Arsenal), the former Gunner feels physically ready and can’t wait to begin his Olympian adventure. “I will play where the coach wants. Centre-back or full-back, it doesn’t matter. (…) I haven’t had a lot of playing time this season but I’ve been working a lot with a physical trainer for weeks, I feel ready”, he confided in remarks relayed by The Phocaean.

The 28-year-old was also asked about his integration into the Marseille group, facilitated by the presence of former teammates at Arsenal and Schalke. “I met my teammates and the staff yesterday (Wednesday). It helps to already know the players. Harit, Guendouzi and Saliba helped me”, added number 23.
The new recruit, however, did not mention the match against Lens Saturday, so we still don’t know if he will be in Jorge Sampaoli’s squad.
