Olympique Lyonnais did not exist on the lawn of Roazhon Park this Sunday (4-1), totally overtaken by an attractive team from Stade Rennais.
Remaining on a victory in Ligue 1 against RC Lens (2-1) and on a convincing success in the Europa League against Sparta Prague (3-0), Olympique Lyonnais fell back into his old ways this Sunday evening, in Brittany . Overtaken by a great team from Stade Rennais, Peter Bosz’s men bowed heavily (4-1).
From the start of the meeting, the locals displayed a face as playful as it was conquering, making the Lyonnais fear a long evening. The latter were first kept in the match thanks to an Anthony Lopes of great evenings, author of decisive parades against Martin Terrier (8th) then Gaëtan Laborde (17th).
The Reds and Blacks insisted, however. Thus, Lovro Majer (28th, 43rd) and this same Gaëtan Laborde (33rd) again requested the goalkeeper of OL, who was logically forced to crack just before the break. The striker capsized Roazhon Park by victoriously taking a corner hit by Benjamin Bourigeaud (45th).
Rennes go wild in the second half
Jostled and totally dominated by Bruno Génésio’s men in the first period, Olympique Lyonnais was hardly more comfortable after returning from the locker room. Quite the contrary … After a few minutes, Hamari Traoré scored the second goal of the evening, taking advantage of a missed acrobatic recovery from Gaëtan Labode (50th). A goal which had the merit of awakening the Gones somewhat, more enterprising offensively. And even a little too much, since to the point of offering saving cons …
And Rennes took advantage of it with ease. Found in the axis by Flavien Tait, the young side Adrien Truffert took the depth and went to challenge and deceive a helpless and disillusioned Anthony Lopes (76th). The player trained in Rennes, entered during the match, then offered the luxury of scoring a double a few minutes later, this time scoring a perfectly balanced half-end (83rd). At the end of the match, the Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta saved the honor by reducing the score on a penalty (90th). But the damage was done … Humiliated, OL therefore conceded four goals and displayed an unusually feverish face … Opposite, Stade Rennais had a blast!
