France has not made a quarter. With their 8-0 victory against Kazakhstan, the Blues quietly secured their qualification for the World Cup in Qatar. Kylian Mbappé scored a quadruplet.
Twelve minutes. This is the time it took, Saturday, November 13, for the France team to ensure its victory at the Parc des Princes against Kazakhstan (8-0), synonymous with qualification for the World-2022. Kylian Mbappé, very fit, scored a quadruplet in the lair of his club.
Historic quadruple for Mbappé
The match began with a moment of emotion. The two teams began by paying tribute to the victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015. This was also one of the reasons put forward for relocating this meeting from the Stade de France to the Parc des Princes.
If Kazakhstan shows initiatives in the first moments, failing to surprise France with aggressive pressing in the last thirty meters of the Blues, good resolutions only last a while. The Blues wake up and Benzema, eccentric on the left side, slips the ball to Théo Hernandez who immediately crosses back. Mbappé is at the reception and crucifies the Kazakh goalkeeper with his right foot (6th, 1-0).
Rebelote a few moments later. On the right, Jules Koundé launches Coman in depth, which erases goalkeeper Pokatilov, who came out on an adventure. The Munich center for Mbappé who just has to push the ball into the net (12th, 2-0).
The Blues are starting to have fun. Coman sends a ladle into the box which takes over like a pigeon’s wing to serve at the far post Benzema. Insensitive to this aestheticism, Didier Deschamps calls for “realism”.
His men are docile. They hammer home the point a few minutes later. Again, it is Koundé who serves Coman who crosses for Mbappé who deceives the Kazakh goalkeeper with the head (30th, 3-0).
Benzema goes for his double
Serious and diligent, the Blues spend a quiet evening. Kingsley Coman is untenable in straight piston in the 3-4-3 concocted by Deschamps. The ex-Parisian is a permanent poison for the defense of the Yellows. However, the fourth goal comes from the left side and Théo Hernandez. Party at the limit of the offside, he erases two defenders by extending with the tip of the foot then centers in one touch. Benzema is at the reception (55th, 4-0). He doubled the bet a few moments later on a service from Mbappé (58th, 5-0).
Two achievements that allow the returning of the France team to match and overtake David Trezeguet as the fifth top scorer in the history of the Blues. The public reserves a standing ovation for him at the time of his release, replaced by Moussa Diaby.
Adrien Rabiot continues the French demonstration. Dropped by Erlanov, the Juventus midfielder heads a corner from Antoine Griezmann (75th, 6-0). The Atlético Madrid striker scores the next goal from the penalty spot (84th, 7-0) and pays tribute by lifting his jersey to the Bataclan victims, him whose sister was that night in the concert hall. Mbappé finishes the job by scoring a last goal.
Mission accomplished for the Blues against the 125th nation in the world. The France team will be there in a year and eight days to defend its world crown.
