After being deprived of a penalty during the match against Galatasaray, Mattéo Guendouzi was mocked on social networks by an opposing player.
A Galatasaray player, in this case Patrick Van Aanholt, taunted Marseillais Mattéo Guenzoudi after the match between the two teams in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The two clubs could not separate Thursday evening at the Vélodrome. And among the rare highlights of this scoreless match, there was a penalty whistled at the end of the game in favor of Mattéo Guenzoudi. A penalty which was then canceled. The Polish referee had changed his mind after going to consult the VAR.
For Guendouzi, it was a real snub. But it wasn’t the only one he had experienced that evening. After the game, he had the unpleasant surprise to discover that the player who “dropped” him in the box also ridiculed him on social networks. Indeed, Patrick Van Aanholt published a message in which he made fun of the French international.
Not to miss
Guendouzi took a heavy toll on the web
“Running and opening your mouth after the VAR proved you wrong… You need to relax before I rip this wig off your head”, wrote the Dutch back on twitter, also putting a Gif where we see an old sequence of Guendouzi in the Arsenal jersey, having his hair pulled by the Mancunien Marouane Fellaini.
The Marseille player certainly did not appreciate being humiliated in this way on the web. However, he had the intelligence not to play the game of his provocateur and avoided advertising him through a response.
Note that during the game, the two interested parties hung on a lot. We also saw them exchanging a few words during downtime, which were certainly not politeness.
