Euro 2020 finalist Gareth Southgate has been renewed until 2024 at the head of the Three Lions.
After securing the qualification of his team for the 2022 World Cup, Gareth Southgate has extended his contract with the English selection. The former defender is now under contract with the Three Lions until Euro 2024.
Appointed in 2016 after the scandal that cost Sam Allardyce his job, Southgate took theEngland in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and in the final of Euro 2020, lost on penalties at Wembley against Italy. It is nevertheless the best result for the English in a major international competition for 55 years, and victory at the 1966 World Cup.
“It remains an incredible privilege to lead this team. We have a great opportunity in front of us ”, said Southgate, whose record is 44 wins, 10 draws and 14 losses in 68 games.
