Paris Saint-Germain coach, Mauricio Pochettino, spoke about the relationship between the two stars of his team, French international Kylian Mbappe, and Brazilian Neymar, after their recent crisis in the Montpellier match.
The cameras caught Mbappe talking with his colleague Idrissa Gaya, and criticizing Neymar during the Paris match against Montpellier, last Saturday, in the eighth round of the French League.
Mbappe expressed to Idrissa Gaia, who was next to him, his anger at Neymar, saying: “He does not pass the ball to me.”
In his first comment on the incident, Pochettino said to the French newspaper L’Equipe: “Mbappe and Neymar are great players. In football, things like this happen. The goal here is to win (in matches).”
He added: “The incident of Mbappe and Neymar caused a sensation outside the walls of the club, but there was nothing inside. Mbappe and Neymar were talking, I saw them in training and they were joking with each other. I also spoke to them.”
Paris Saint-Germain will face Manchester City on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes in the second round of the Champions League group stage.
